Jesse La Plante
Skiing is my favorite pastime. We have two seasons here at J. La Plante Photo: wedding season and ski season. If pressed, I could probably eat around 47 tacos. I love to travel. I've been to all 50 United States and 18 foreign countries. So far...
One of our favorite things about being wedding photographers is discovering how each couple is unique, and that each love is different. It is such an amazing opportunity to share the coming together of a couple as they begin their lives together as one.
Our clients come to us looking for a different type of photography... They love our unique fusion of landscape and portrait photography. We often get weird looks when we climb trees or wade out into a stream with expensive camera gear, but it's all a part of creating something different. It's about giving our clients a piece of wall art instead just a bunch of tight 8x10 portraits.
I support your love no matter your orientation, age, shape, race or abilities, and I don't photoshop people to be younger/skinnier/anything.

I love a good challenge and use that motivation to find interesting places and activities for Alt Sessions. If we come up with a photo idea for a wedding, I will do whatever it takes to figure out how to make it happen. Someone telling me, "It can't be done," fuels my drive.
My husband, Jesse, and I met on spring break in the Bahamas. He offered to buy me a drink. It was an all-inclusive resort. He's since taught me everything I know about photography.
If I see a dog, I consider it a good day.
As a husband and wife team, we are constantly working on fusing the art and story behind each wedding. We are willing to go wherever it takes to get the image. Living in Colorado has provided us with some great backdrops and unique settings for weddings. We are known to go 'off the path' to get the shot, even if that means tromping through a stream, climbing a tree, or getting our cloths a little dirty.
I approach weddings with sensitivity and humor, and I let events unfold organically and with honesty. I try to tell stories and document connections between people -- between bridesmaids as they get ready; between fathers and mothers as they watch ceremonies and recall their own, many years before; between a couple as they marvel at all the people who traveled from all corners of the world; or between best friends during the dance floor shenanigans.
When I'm not shooting weddings, I'm probably cycling, trail running or rock climbing -- or working on my newfound passion: perfecting my home-baked sourdough boule.
My photography has been featured in Offbeat Bride, the Colorado Weddings Magazine, Luxe Mountain Weddings, Premier Weddings of Denver Magazine, and COUTUREcolorado. I have also been voted to the Knot Best of Weddings Hall of Fame and rated #1 photographer in Colorado by Top Rated Local.
I split my time between the Bahamas, Maine, and the San Francisco Bay Area with my two young children, husband and crazy little dog. I love animals, nature, fun dinners, good books, new places and nice people.
Let's go on an adventure together to capture the strength and uniqueness of your love and all the precious moments along the way!
Based in Estes Park, Colorado, he travels frequently to photograph couples in beautiful places such as Iceland, France, Italy, Mexico, and Hawaii.
"My absolute favorite part of photography is getting couples outside, into the wilderness or into a vast landscape and letting their emotions take over."
I get emotional watching the way partners look and interact with one another. I love to create emotional and meaningful photography sessions and document the important moments throughout weddings and elopements.
Your wedding photography experience can be fun, comfortable, and creative. By enjoying the people we're with and the places we get to visit, we can create something worth remembering. Focusing on your experience allows us to capture your memories in a way that is true to you. Your love is an adventure, your wedding can be too.
Our motto: love. adventurously.
We believe that your wedding photography experience can be fun, comfortable, and creative. By enjoying the people we're with and the places we get to visit, we can create something worth remembering. Focusing on your experience allows us to capture your memories in a way that is true to you.
I live for telling stories and documenting moments not only at weddings but also from the sidelines of college and professional sports for major national clients like Getty Images and Sports Illustrated. When you really think about it, sports and weddings are similar because you often only have one chance to document a fleeting moment. It's something that you have to be able to anticipate and I thrive on that kind of pressure.
Access is everything when it comes to capturing unique images. I work hard to develop a rapport with yourselves but also your parents, friends, family and other guests. My goal is to become part of your inner circle in a way that people forget that I have a camera and that's when I'm able to photograph something really special.
Based in Grand Junction, Colorado, I photograph gorgeous Colorado weddings in the Grand Valley, the Rocky Mountains, and beyond. I also travel to Austin, Texas to photograph a limited number of weddings each year.
I believe that when you understand how to truly see, beauty is everywhere. I am passionate about capturing and memorializing the beauty of humanity and love. At the end of the day, my craft, my art, is produced by combining my technical skill set and my artistic imagination to capture the true essence of life's most important moments. This is what I do. This is what I love.
Who is the girl behind the lens? I have always identified with the words in Mary Anne Radmacher's powerful poem "Living Eulogy" ... "She danced. She sang. She took. She gave. She served. She loved. She created. She dissented. She enlivened. She saw. She grew. She sweated. She changed. She learned. She shed her skin. She bled on the pages of her days. She walked through walls. She lived with intention."
I maintain a quiet presence. I'm not invisible, but most people forget I'm there even when I'm only a couple feet away. I don't manufacture moments. or arrange scenarios to replicate pictures made elsewhere. These pictures should be about you, your life, your memories. So you'll never hear me ask you to do something again or in a different way. I observe, wait, and anticipate.
I let you be you and don't intrude upon your experience.
I believe in goodnight kisses and holding hands as you fall asleep
My wife and I have been married for 8 years and share our house with four furry children and our 2 year old son
I'm often quiet, but I could talk about The Bachelorette for hours
I believe that exploring is more important than getting to your destination
I believe that converse shoes are everyday wear: comfort and style
I appreciate the beauty of light, shadow, and subtle emotion in fine art nudes
When I'm home alone I make pancakes for dinner
I believe the perfect day is an afternoon in the mountains and a night cuddling at home
I re-read my favorite books because a good story never gets old
I believe in planning your dreams
I SEE THE BEAUTY IN WHAT MAKES PEOPLE UNCOMFORTABLE
Although originally from Florida, I have always felt a deep admiration for the mountains, and am truly excited start a new chapter in Golden, Colorado with my husband and small dog.
I absolutely love photographing weddings and being a part of such a magical day for two people and their families. Whether you are getting married in Colorado, eloping, or having a destination wedding outside of Colorado, I'm your girl! Please don't hesitate to get in touch. I would love to hear all about the two of you as well as your wedding plans!

Our photography style can be defined as creative & cinematic, with a mix of dramatic and intimate wedding portraiture using a candid approach. In other words, we use both traditional and photojournalistic styles when they are most appropriate throughout the day.
In wanderlust and going where the universe takes you.
In jumping - sometimes the rocks aren't as sharp as they seem
That smart is the new sexy
In 60s Rock n' Roll - who needs Kanye when you have Paul and John
In continually adventuring and trying bold new things
In dancing until your shoes fall off
That PB&J tastes amazing at the top of a mountain
That giving time is more important than giving a gift
There's no photography expedition too small or too large. I love connecting with couples over alpine hikes, talks about how awesome dogs are, or drives up mountain passes to catch that perfect light cresting over the mountain. Over the past eight years photographing, I've become known to push my boundaries - both artistically and physically - to produce the best memories for my couples.
I started my career as a photojournalist for the Orange County Register in Southern California. I took what I learned from that experience and applied it to the world of weddings which has brought me where I am today. As of 2018 I've shot almost 400 weddings and hundreds of engagement sessions and other events. Today, my wife and I love capturing couples' love stories in Colorado and througout the country. We offer wedding, engagement, boudoir and all types of portrait photography. Send us a message and let us know how we can capture your special moments!

You'll find that my client interactions and photography reflect the high value I place on family, honesty, intelligence (I am a Ravenclaw after all), and humor. My other roles include: craft beer drinker, Denver Comic Con volunteer, luckiest wife in the world, and dog momma.
We've worked around the country spending time with people from diverse backgrounds. These instincts help us document weddings as they unravel, while being unobtrusive. Photography has enabled us to travel, meet incredible people and share their stories; we are truly grateful for all the encounters and opportunities that being behind the camera has allowed us to experience. We love to go hiking, explore the beautiful outdoors, and push our creative limits as photographers.
Your story matters, and deserves to be told with creativity and an eye for the unexpected. We are always looking to see the world differently and love a good challenge that pushes us creatively to achieve more for our couples.
In our work we empower couples to get married in a way that stays true to who they are and what they really love: incredible experiences together. You want your wedding to be about the two of you, exploring and hanging out and connecting in some awesome place together. Not stressing, not performing, not hosting. We can help.
I believe in documenting lifestyles and people. Each person has different experiences creating who they are, and who they are becoming. It excites me to go into a wedding day to see the dynamic of families, and the connection of couples.
I have a BA in photography and have been photographing weddings since 2007. I shoot alone or with a second shooter who also happens to be my husband, which again--best job ever? I think so. I'm based in Jackson Hole, Wyoming--home of the Tetons, Yellowstone National Park, and some of the best skiing this side of the Atlantic. I'll also happily travel anywhere you'd like me to go, whether it be Casper or Katmandu.
