I am Magdalene, an award-winning visual artist & photographer who is inspired by emotions and light! I have studied fine arts and digital arts, in London. As a photographer in Greece, I am mostly into the island, summer weddings, as on Paros - Antiparos, Rhodes, Crete, Corfu, Hydra, Spetses, Santorini, Amorgos, Naxos, Mykonos, and many other islands, but also city weddings as in Athens, Thessaloniki, Larnaca, Nicosia, etc.

Being a painter, a video artist, and a mother of 3 precious kids, has influenced a lot my shooting style. I love traveling and going to film and music festivals. I love sushi, yoga, and meditation. I love the warm sun on my face, the weightlessness and the silence in the sea, and the sound of the wind; I love my cats, my Vivo barefoot boots, and sci-fi movies. I love the big smiles and positive thinkers!

Where are you located? Do you charge a travel fee for weddings not in your location?

The last years had moved to Rhodes, Greece. I do charge a fixed amount for travel and accommodation fee for destination weddings all over Greece and Cyprus, unless otherwise agreed.

How long have you been in business? How many weddings have you photographed as the main photographer?

Since 2009, ..really many, each of them unique :)

Describe your "style" of wedding photography.

Actually, I have a very basic approach to my wedding photojournalistic work. Because I am fascinated by the natural human emotions that permeate that special day for so many couples, I love the fact that I feel like I am preserving their energy, emotions, and personas for posterity in their wedding photos. In every single example of my creative wedding photojournalism, I strive to share those very real occasions with the viewer and always to give them the feeling of being there at that very moment when two people who love each other commit their lives to each other. To me, that’s truly the meaning of wedding documentary photography. And, as a big fan of those real moments, I also enjoy shooting wedding documentary photography, in a very discreet way that includes numerous creative candid shots that convey the true emotions of the couple. I am confident in realism and not in photoshopped or airbrushed wedding photography. That's because I firmly believe that you look great just the way you are on your wedding day. And, that's why I want to creatively capture it and share it with everyone who views the photos of your Big Day!

What's the typical wedding coverage package that you offer? What is the price?

There are basic packages but also tailored made ones.

Do you have a studio where we can meet? Do you use Skype?

I usually use email/skype!

What are your professional degrees, credentials, affiliations? Have you taken any recent educational workshops or classes?

I am a figurative visual artist who is into photography, mainly documentary wedding photography, or reportage wedding photography, since 2009. I have studied fine art in UAL – Wimbledon College of Arts and have Masters degree in digital image from Metropolitan University, in London.

Is there anything else you'd like to share about yourself?

I am a photographic storyteller & a positive thinker! As a figurative artist, I love being an observer of the moment, natural light & emotions.

We hired Magdalene to be our photographer for our destination wedding in Mykonos. We had originally booked her for May of 2020, but our wedding was postponed due to COVID. In addition to graciously keeping our contract for the next year, Magdalene was an amazing addition to our wedding. She was available to give input on a change in the ceremony venue, decided on less than one month before the wedding, and was so helpful in keeping me calm and reassured throughout the process.
On the day before the wedding, Magdalene and our videographers walked around Mykonos town with us. She immediately Read More made us feel at ease. Her style, more documentary or photojournalist than "traditional" wedding, was exactly what we needed. She obtained such gorgeous, candid shots, which exactly captured the moments we wanted to remember. Her encouragement helped us act natural and the beautiful photographs are a testament to her "behind-the-scenes" approach. Her photographs are just spectacular.
On the day of the wedding, Magdalene was careful to capture so many small elements, and not just the traditional ones (dress, shoes, accessories, etc). She took time to get to know us, to understand what traditions were important to us, and to highlight the small details that we had worked so hard to create. The intimate place setting at dinner. The traditional Palestinian embroidery and olive branches that we wanted to incorporate. And she did it all in such a remarkable, low-key manner. When we got our photos back (and so quickly!), I couldn't believe the photos she was able to get - I don't even remember seeing her in some parts!
All I can say is that we were truly lucky to have found Magdalene as our wedding photographer. Her style is amazing! I love the photojournalism flair, which truly captures the spirit of the experience, not just the posed moments.
