Being a wedding photographer has been one of the greatest privileges of my working life. I don't think that I have been to a wedding in the past 20 years where I wasn't deeply moved at some point during the day. And, to this day, many of my wedding clients remain my close friends.

At my core, I am a documentarian, so I always look for what is 'real' in people and the world around me. My approach to wedding photography skips on all of the gimmicks and trends and focuses on what is timeless: intimate portraits documented in rich, classic tones. As you may have noticed, I don't have an instagram account for my wedding work and I do absolutely zero marketing. I never have. Branding and sales have never held much interest for me. Rather, my clients principally come to me through direct referrals. And, unlike many wedding photographers, I limit the number of weddings that I take in a given year. Rather, I focus on a few couples and pour my soul into their wedding day. My deepest goal is that you will simply love your images and that they will be a cherished heirloom in your family for many years to come. Quality, integrity, and character are at the core of my work and who I am.

I am a Fearless Photographer, a Blue Earth Alliance Photographer, a Fellow at the Bertha Institute, an Artist in Residence at the McGuffey Art Center, and a recipient of the prestigious Portrait of Humanity Award - one of the world's top awards in portrait photography. My photography has been featured in National Geographic, The Guardian, The Washington Post, and many other outlets and galleries around the world.

I've been a wedding photographer for 20 years and I've worked with over 100 couples in the US and around the world. I've been featured in Washingtonian Bride & Groom Magazine's 'Best Vendors', have been honored as a Finalist for a 'Fearless Award'. I hold a five star rating on Wedding Wire.

Where are you located? Do you charge a travel fee for weddings not in your location?

Based in Charlottesville, VA and Washington, DC. I do shoot destination weddings in the US and around the world and work with my clients to design custom travel packages.

How long have you been in business? How many weddings have you photographed as the main photographer?

I've been shooting weddings since 2001 and have shot over 100 weddings and engagements.

Describe your "style" of wedding photography.
