~ I spent the first part of the pandemic befriending the squirrels in our backyard. I've given them names.
~ My idea of a perfect evening is a warm blanket, a good book and a glass of whiskey.
~ I'm a meticulous notetaker. I have dozens of notebooks with funny sayings on the covers. A current favorite is "F*cking Brilliant Ideas."
~ Jesse and I met on spring break in the Bahamas. He offered to buy me a drink. It was an all-inclusive resort.
Based in Boulder, Colorado. Travel to most places in Colorado is included in our packages.
My husband, Jesse, and I have photographed over 250 weddings since 2008.
We’re not big on taking standard, posey photos. We specialize in nontraditional wedding photography and everything you see on our website is real. Real weddings. Real couples. Real emotion. Our goal isn’t to simply take pretty pictures, but to create works of art that are unique to you and worthy of hanging above your mantlepiece. We limit our calendar to 20 weddings per year so we can pour every ounce of our blood, sweat and tears into each wedding.
Our most popular wedding package is $7,200 and includes a full day of coverage (typically 10-12 hours, but we don't limit time), two photographers, a password-protected online gallery, high-res images with the rights to print, and a photo album.
No physical studio as of yet, but we have dozens of convenient meeting places all around the metro Denver area. Zoom works too.

That confidence and Read More anxiety was delicately handled by Moira more than anyone. She was there to ask and answer every question, did an INCREDIBLE job consulting with us (particularly during the final album design call), and even came to my rescue with liquid IV in the restroom when I fell ill at our reception. Her experience (and general personality) created the safest space for me to share not only my happiness, but also my post-wedding blues and perfectionist/overthinker regrets, which she was always able to validate and reframe in a way that made it easy for me to let go of what didn't go "right." Like when I said I wish we'd done a rehearsal, she said that even people who do rehearsals don't get it right - instant relief. There were SO many moments like that before and after our wedding; never any judgment, only the most comforting support.
I'm so incredibly grateful to have found Jesse & Moira on instagram by chance. It was a peaceful pleasure to be whisked away in their car to the most breathtaking landscapes we've ever stood on. They captured exactly what I hoped for, including my husband & I sharing a celebratory joint after the ceremony; it was such a gift to feel so freely ourselves on that gorgeous day.
I'd get married all over again just to spend another day working with the La Plantes. Since I fell ill by the end of the night, we will absolutely be returning in a few years to do (at least) an alt session under the stars. But despite being barely able to stand upright, we did capture a couple of astral shots on the ski slopes that night that I'll treasure forever.
Seriously, these are the photos I want shown at my funeral so my friends & family never forget how beautiful it was. They captured it all perfectly.
