Contact Mantas Kubilinskas

I’m a wedding photographer based in Washington, D.C., working in a documentary, fine-art style with an editorial edge… though I’m not sure labels fully capture it. What matters to me is telling your story honestly. From the quiet moments in the morning to the unexpected, blink-and-you-miss-it interactions that happen throughout the day. Those are often my favorite frames.

I keep things relaxed and unobtrusive, because real connection shows up when people feel comfortable. Every relationship is different, and I take that seriously. I want your photographs to feel like you - your energy, your people, your way of being together. I remember early on realizing that no two weddings should ever be photographed the same way, and I’ve stuck with that.

Take a look through my work and see if it resonates. If it does, let’s talk. And yes… I’m always happy to travel wherever your story takes place.

Where are you located? Do you charge a travel fee for weddings not in your location?

This part is easier than it sounds… though it can get a little global.

I’m based in Washington, D.C., but I work wherever the story takes me. I’ve photographed weddings across the US and in different countries, and traveling has always been part of how I work (maybe because I’m used to living between places).

About travel fees - they’re usually built into my packages to cover transportation, lodging, and meals. No hidden surprises later. If you’re planning a destination wedding, the only real step is to check availability and confirm whether travel is included for your specific location. Simple, but important.

I mean, what I’m getting at is this - distance isn’t a limitation. As long as the dates align, I’m happy to show up wherever your wedding happens.

How long have you been in business? How many weddings have you photographed as the main photographer?

Time moves fast when you’re doing something you care about.

I’ve been in the photography business for over 15 years now, which still surprises me a little when I say it out loud. Weddings became a big part of that journey, and over the years I’ve documented around 300 of them as the primary photographer. Different cities, different cultures, different kinds of energy… no two days ever the same.

And that experience matters, maybe more than people realize. After a while, you start anticipating moments before they happen. You know when to step closer, when to disappear, when to stay calm if the timeline shifts (because it always does). I mean, what I’m getting at is this - experience brings confidence, and confidence brings peace to your wedding day.

Describe your "style" of wedding photography.

My style lives somewhere between documentary storytelling and quiet artistry… though I’m not sure labels ever fully explain it. At its core, it’s about paying attention. Watching moments unfold instead of staging them. Letting real emotions happen, then stepping in only when it actually adds something.

I work in a photojournalistic, documentary way, but I’m always thinking visually. Light. Composition. Timing. Those small creative decisions that turn an honest moment into an image you want to keep coming back to. I remember a wedding where nothing “big” happened for a while… and then a single glance told the whole story.

Also - and this matters - I try to keep the energy calm and easy. No pressure, no constant direction. A relaxed atmosphere usually leads to the most genuine images, and I want you to feel a sense of peace throughout the entire process. When you’re comfortable, the photographs take care of themselves.

What's the typical wedding coverage package that you offer? What is the price?

I offer several coverage options at different price points, because weddings vary wildly. Some days need just a few focused hours, others unfold slowly and deserve full-day attention. Coverage can include different numbers of hours, one or two photographers, high-resolution digital files, albums, prints, and a few thoughtful add-ons along the way.

You know what matters most, though? The conversation. I mean, what I’m getting at is this… once I understand your plans, priorities, and budget (and yes, those matter), I can guide you toward the option that actually makes sense for you - not something generic pulled off a list.

Think of it less as choosing a package and more as shaping coverage around your day. That’s usually when everything clicks.

Do you have a studio where we can meet in-person?

I don’t keep a traditional studio, and that’s very intentional. Instead, I prefer meeting clients where it feels natural and convenient for them - a café, a quiet spot in the city, or anywhere that makes the conversation easy. I’ve found those meetings feel more relaxed… and honestly, more real.

If meeting in person isn’t possible (and sometimes it isn’t), no problem at all. I’m very comfortable connecting by phone or video. Zoom, FaceTime, Skype, Google Hangouts, WeChat - whatever works best for you. I’ve done plenty of meaningful conversations this way, maybe even more focused ones, though I could be wrong.

What matters to me isn’t the room we’re in. It’s the conversation, the trust, and making sure you feel comfortable before we move forward.

What are your professional degrees, credentials, affiliations? Have you taken any recent educational workshops or classes?

don’t come from a single formal degree path, though I’m not sure that’s the most important part anyway. What I’ve done instead is constant, intentional learning. Classes. Private mentors. Fearless Foundation workshops. And then more practice… and more practice. I remember early on realizing that talent alone wasn’t enough - skill needs pressure, feedback, and repetition to actually grow.

By the way, I truly believe clients should dig a little. Look at the portfolio. Ask for references. Ask about experience, affiliations, all of it. No, not because it sounds professional on paper… but because this is your day. Your memories.

I mean, what I’m getting at is simple. Education isn’t a checkbox. It’s an ongoing commitment. And when you hire someone who takes that seriously, you’re not just hiring a person with a camera. You’re trusting someone who knows how to show up, adapt, and capture moments the way you’ll want to remember them later. Agree?

Is there anything else you'd like to share about yourself?

One small thing, maybe… though it ends up mattering more than people expect.

I care a lot about how you feel on your wedding day. Not just the photos. I try to be a calming presence, someone who blends in, notices what’s happening, and helps the day flow naturally. I’ve seen how much smoother everything feels when there’s trust and no pressure.

Also, I come from a mix of places and cultures, which quietly shapes how I see people and moments (hard to explain, but it’s there). I’m endlessly curious, still learning, still excited every time I pick up a camera. I mean, what I’m getting at is this… I don’t treat weddings as jobs to get through. I treat them as stories I’m invited into, and I take that seriously.
