Rob Dight is an Ireland-based elopement photographer and planning partner specialising in destination elopements in Ireland and Northern Ireland for couples travelling from the United States.

He has photographed weddings professionally since 2012 and has focused exclusively on elopements since 2014. During that time, he has planned and documented more than 300 elopements across Ireland’s most dramatic landscapes, including the Causeway Coast, Atlantic cliffs, historic castles, and remote coastal headlands.

His work is centred on intentional, experience-led elopements rather than staged or performative weddings. Combining documentary storytelling with refined, cinematic composition, he creates photographs that feel natural, timeless, and deeply connected to place.

For couples planning from overseas, Rob serves not only as a photographer but as a trusted local guide—assisting with location selection, timelines shaped around Irish light and weather, legal and logistical considerations, and coordination with trusted local vendors. The result is an experience that feels calm, grounded, and personally meaningful from beginning to end.

He accepts a limited number of elopements each year to provide a highly supported, high-touch experience from first enquiry through final delivery.

Based in Ireland and working throughout Ireland and Northern Ireland, Rob specialises in destination elopements, intimate weddings, and private wedding experiences for international couples.

Where are you located? Do you charge a travel fee for weddings not in your location?

I am based in Ireland and work throughout Ireland and Northern Ireland.
Most of my work involves destination elopements for couples travelling from the United States, so travel within Ireland is already built into my planning and coverage. For weddings outside Ireland, travel is quoted individually depending on location and logistics.

How long have you been in business? How many weddings have you photographed as the main photographer?

I have photographed weddings professionally since 2012 and have focused specifically on elopements since 2014.
During that time, I have planned and documented more than 300 elopements and intimate weddings across Ireland and Northern Ireland as the primary photographer.

Describe your "style" of wedding photography.

My work is centred on intentional, experience-led elopements rather than staged or performative weddings.
I combine documentary observation with refined, cinematic composition to create photographs that feel natural, timeless, and deeply connected to the Irish landscape and the couple’s experience within it.

What's the typical wedding coverage package that you offer? What is the price?

Most couples choose full-day elopement coverage that includes planning support, timeline design around light and weather, location guidance, and complete photographic documentation of the experience.

Elopement coverage in Ireland begins at $6,800 USD, with most destination elopements investing in a fully supported, full-service experience tailored to their locations, timeline, and planning needs.
Detailed options and exact pricing are shared after an initial consultation so the experience can be designed intentionally around each couple’s plans.

Do you have a studio where we can meet in-person?

Because the majority of my couples travel from overseas, meetings are typically held via video consultation.
This allows us to plan locations, timelines, and logistics in detail before arrival in Ireland.
In-person meetings can be arranged in Ireland when helpful for the planning process.

What are your professional degrees, credentials, affiliations? Have you taken any recent educational workshops or classes?

My experience is rooted primarily in more than a decade of full-time professional wedding and elopement photography across Ireland, along with extensive on-location planning and coordination for international couples.
I remain actively engaged with the international photography community and ongoing professional development relevant to storytelling, location work, and destination elopements.

Is there anything else you'd like to share about yourself?

For couples travelling to Ireland to elope, my role extends beyond photography.
I act as a local planning partner—helping navigate locations, weather, timelines, vendors, and logistics—so the experience feels calm, meaningful, and genuinely personal.
I accept a limited number of elopements each year to ensure every couple receives focused support and a fully considered photographic experience.
