I am a father, painter, professor, designer, dancer, and pancake pro. All these things make me a better photographer, which means your photographs will be different from others. I believe in beauty, but also believe in meaning.

Just be yourself and I'll do the rest.

I'm a photojournalist turned wedding photographer and loving it. I enjoy capturing moments and working my butt off all day long. Worked for newspapers and magazines for many years. The demands put on me by photo editors helped me grow and I find that bride and grooms are much nicer.

While I've won a Pulitzer Prize for photography so far I've not tried to win any Knot or Wedding Wire awards. Please don't hold this against me. My photography style is more classic and timeless over trendy and I'm not about following the trends or photoshop actions that will look dated in a few years. I love growing and learning from others and never stop learning.

Back in 2010, I met the most incredible person on this earth, Lacey Jo. A few years later, I put a ring on that girl and sealed the deal. We got married at a quaint brewery, having our first dance in a beautiful garden under the stars with twinkle lights above us.

I wrote this after returning home from work the night I met my wife, Leslie, for the first time:

"So I'm scrubbing dishes in the back at Panera Bread when I look up through the small circular window on the door and what do I see? To put it bluntly, the most defined feminine calves my little eyes have ever gazed upon. It was at that moment that I made the executive decision that the dishes were clean enough and it was time to check on our new guests in the dining room."

I laugh at myself more often than not. It helps boost my confidence.

I love the show Breaking Bad. Who doesn't?

I'm pretty active. You kind of have to be in order to be a great photographer. I am usually doing something that requires balance (slack-lining, longboarding, rock climbing, etc.).

I don't care too much for beer - unless it's Founders Double Chocolate Oatmeal Breakfast Stout, then I'm all about it. Blue Moon works, too.

My wife and I are learning to love each other. I think we are learning well. We forgive well, I think-if Les disagrees, I bet she forgives me for saying it.

I refuse to let Les sleep alone. That's not to say we won't go to bed pissed at each other every once in a while. But when those nights come, and Les heads to the couch, I sleep on the living room floor beside her.

Believe the best in people. It makes a difference.

We are passionate about wedding photography. Our belief is to do one thing and do it extremely well. Our background as artists, care givers, and designers gives us the ability to create images that are dynamic, creative, and contemporary pieces of art that bring out the best in each person photographed.

I've always loved photography. My dad had a darkroom when I was growing up and one of his pictures of me won $10 in a newspaper photo contest. We'd go to the library as a family and I'd come back with those big Life and Look picture books - my favorites. Then, when I was older, I'd be the one who'd go on a long weekend and shoot 20 rolls of film, expecting friends and family to look at every single picture. (I've since learned to edit.) So, all that to say I've come by it honestly.

I started this business in 2003 after having shot a few weddings alongside other photographers. I had a vision for how I wanted to do things and running my own show was the only way to make that happen. I quit my day job in January 2007 and have been a full-time photographer ever since, having shot hundreds of weddings over the years.

Of all the things I get to do in this world, photographing weddings is one of my favorite. When we set out to photograph a wedding, our goal is to present the bride and the groom with the illustrated story of their day in a carefully crafted imagery. The images are put into a gorgeous wedding book allowing our clients to revisit the moments of their wedding tale over and over again.
