I love the intimacy, uniqueness, creativity, and unpredictability that often occurs in weddings. You can't control anything, yet they're filled with passion, energy, and excitement. Being involved in wedding photography allows me to capture the most spectacular and precious moments, and this is what drives and inspires me as a photographer. Each and every wedding is as unique as those who are in it, and the energy and love within weddings is an amazing moment in time that I am fortunate enough to photograph.
Im based in London but I travel, often my fee will covers expenses on travel within and around London, however variety is the spice of life, so I'm always interested in venturing somewhere new, I've been as far as Canada for a wedding, so a fee would apply, but we can talk more logistics when we meet.
Ive been a freelance photographer for 10 years in not just weddings, but in fashion, commercial, editorial, events, music and architecture too, ( you can see examples here if you like - www.a-h.photography) I made the leap to go into business as a full time photographer in 2015 and I've never looked back.
I would say my approach is very Documentary, I'm candid and discreet in my approach of photographing the day, I love to capture as much of the story as it unfolds in front of me without intruding. However, my interests in fashion, architecture and classic film Noir films have a heavy influence on how I compose my shots so theres often some time and care put into how I might decide to capture certain special moments. Ive no shame in saying I can get a bit Geeky and if time and distance allows ill even scope a venue out prior the big day to get a sense of the space. This being said, I'm also not shy about rallying everyone up for the family portraits and getting everyone on the dance floor for a good boogie in the evening.. These are some of my post favourite photos. So id say a little of everything is incorporated in my style.
I cover the whole day, because thats what a wedding is. So from the getting ready, to the last main event, weather thats the first dance, cake cutting, or maybe even a little bit of the dancing if the mood is right on the night. That being said, I also offer a pop up studio for later coverage in the evening where I capture beautiful portraits of the guests on the night. This is ideal for those who have loved ones coming later in the evening, and is very popular with my clients as this is a gift from them to the party to remember the day. Its captured in High res digital files, so it can be printed & shared as many times as you like.
