Calogero (a.k.a. Kalò) was born in 1982 in Favara (in the province of Agrigento, Sicily) where he develops his artistic inclination. He learned the photographic techniques and methods by collaborating with several professionals in the surrounding territory. He soon understood that his propensity is reportage, more than posed shooting (for which he does not feel any esteem). He undertakes wedding photography, conceiving the wedding photography as a story made by images and as a story of a day without artificial situations, by capturing spontaneous moments. He never accepted to change his peculiar style and instead brought forward the simplicity that characterize it.
In 2010, he began his professional experience, expanding it to the whole Sicilian area a few years later.
From time to time, he loves taking photos of his roots by capturing faces, smiles, traditions and faith in God, who will never renounce.

Where are you located? Do you charge a travel fee for weddings not in your location?

Sicily - south Italy. Yes I charge travel fee if the weddings are located out of Sicily.

How long have you been in business? How many weddings have you photographed as the main photographer?

From 2007. About 100

Describe your "style" of wedding photography.

It would be wrong to say that all service is based on spontaneity in the pure state. When thinking about double reportage, I mean a tale that does not force or force static attitudes outside their naturalness, but instead leaves them free to live the day, without the anxiety of the shooting and the obsession of the photographer pursuing them . To hunt the couple for the whole day and give it to the guests, exhausted at the end of the day, it has never been my style.
It is important for me to know the couple and to understand their personality, their subjectivity. By reason of this I will know how to work on the day of their marriage. Bringing the bridal couples comfortable that day, it's part of the job and I think we've always been successful. Just do not know how to press a button and take a picture. It is necessary to interpret, but above all, feel, loquacity and sometimes even play.
In this photo story it is obvious that there are also rite shots, dedicated to family and outline. Parents and friends I think they are not people to exclude, indeed .... ! I would lack of professionalism if I excluded the most intimate and most affectionate people. In the story of what's happening, minute after minute or reportage, I also like to add some creative shots (portrait, photo couple, etc.) and context (faces, people, children, details etc.).
The first goal is to make fun of the couple, just so I can get dynamic, smiling photos that tell the truth. Service in this way becomes complicity between the spouses and the photographer. From here, it is easy to give suggestions to the protagonists of the day, to ensure that they interact without forcing, in order to create the right compromise for a good shot, which though it may be "laid" was the fruit of a tacit and Addressed. This makes it possible to exploit locations, views, perspectives, and angles in almost any natural way.
