Originally from Norfolk, I moved to the north-west to study photography at university where I successfully achieved my degree. While studying I learnt the art of being an F-stop ninja from the BBC as a photojournalist. I however quickly got bored of the 5 am phone calls and endless train journeys around the country typically photographing sad or tragic occasions. I turned to weddings after a colleague of mine asked me to photograph his wedding. I won't lie, I was terrified but honoured and as they say, the rest is history...

I wouldn't describe myself as a traditional wedding photographer. I don't consult 'The Handbook of Wedding Photography Clichés' beforehand. I favour a more observational, creative, documentary-style approach rather than the stiff formality of endless group shots. My eyes will be peeled for those unexpected moments that can make a day. My shots are unposed, candid, spontaneous. They are moments captured rather than created and will tell the story of your big day in a naturalistic way. You'll hardly know I'm there as I move around like an f-stop ninja clicking away like my life depends upon it. But the focus will always be on you and your guests.

Where are you located? Do you charge a travel fee for weddings not in your location?

I'm based in Carlisle, Cumbria. I charge for mileage and accommodation for weddings over 2 hours away.

Describe your "style" of wedding photography.

A mix of shoot from the hip, with some fly on the wall. Plus an added dash of well-planned creative fun awesomeness... Smoke grenade or fire anyone?!

What's the typical wedding coverage package that you offer? What is the price?

Most people choose the All Day package which as standard comes at £1,149. 90% of couples also add a "second shooter" for £260. I offer payment plans which spread the cost over months up till your wedding.

Do you have a studio where we can meet in-person?

We can skype, meet for a coffee or something stronger. Or if local I can also pop round to yours if you wish.

What are your professional degrees, credentials, affiliations? Have you taken any recent educational workshops or classes?

I have a Photography degree.
I am also a member of the SWPP (Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers)
I regularly attend workshops to challenge myself and to see how other people work.
You can never stop learning!
