This type of photography is known as reportage, documentary, or photojournalism, but what it really means is that you get to spend your day with the people you love and have an amazing time. Then you get to relive it all through some beautiful photographs.
I'm based in Chopwell, a small village on the edge of Northumberland, Gateshead, and County Durham. I cover all of the North East of England but there's an additional time and travel charge for weddings over 150 miles, or 2 hours from my location. Where appropriate there may be an overnight surcharge to ensure your photographer is in the best condition for your day.
I shot my first wedding back in 2004, and I've been a full time wedding photographer since 2012.
I'm primarily a photojournalist, I like capturing weddings as they happen. I'm not really into big production pieces for weddings as I think they detract from what should be a great day with your family and friends. It's nice to have a few traditional photographs of all the family, some nice ones of the two of you, but I'm mostly about you guys having a great day.
My standard full day package is £1795 and that covers you from 2 hours before the ceremony (for all your lovely prep), up to the first dance. I usually stay for a couple of songs after that so that you get photographs of people dancing, and to ensure we've captured everything you want.
You're welcome to pop over and see me, I will probably ply you with cups of tea and make you admire my pet chickens.
I have a degree in media studies which incorporated many aspects of photography, and videography, lighting, post production, image manipulation and all sorts of fun things.
I share my space with a small army of pet chickens who are single-handedly responsible in making me go vegan. I am obsessed with them and make no apologies. I love old horror movies, old German cinema, heavy metal, jazz, reading, cooking, running, and learning about STUFF. I'm currently learning German because of my love for Neue Deutsche Härte (German dance metal), and spend far too much time creating Pinterest mood boards for personal photo projects.
I'm not a heavy drinker but please feel free to bribe me with whisky.
