That being said, I love to work with my couples to create epic, artistic portraits. I always try to push the envelope and challenge situations to make something that might not be so apparent on the surface. It all begins with great light, moments and composition.
In, October of 2018 we had our first child! Rouxby Jo came out with bright blue eyes! Since having a Rouxby, it really has changed my perspective on life and has made me a better wedding photographer!
An ideal night includes us taking the Jeep top off and heading out to dinner and an adventure! A few of our favorite dinner spots are Cooper's Hawk, Condados Tacos, and M at Miranova.
Let's hang out!
This is what we offer our couples - couples who have great taste and style. Couples who love life and are not afraid to let their emotions show. Couples who value photography not as a commodity, but for the memories and artwork that we capture. Lastly, couples who know their story is what matters above all else.
We have an intimate and personal understanding of the wedding process and we deeply value marriage - both yours and ours. So, let's celebrate it together!
"So I'm scrubbing dishes in the back at Panera Bread when I look up through the small circular window on the door and what do I see? To put it bluntly, the most defined feminine calves my little eyes have ever gazed upon. It was at that moment that I made the executive decision that the dishes were clean enough and it was time to check on our new guests in the dining room."
I laugh at myself more often than not. It helps boost my confidence.
I love the show Breaking Bad. Who doesn't?
I'm pretty active. You kind of have to be in order to be a great photographer. I am usually doing something that requires balance (slack-lining, longboarding, rock climbing, etc.).
I don't care too much for beer - unless it's Founders Double Chocolate Oatmeal Breakfast Stout, then I'm all about it. Blue Moon works, too.
My wife and I are learning to love each other. I think we are learning well. We forgive well, I think-if Les disagrees, I bet she forgives me for saying it.
I refuse to let Les sleep alone. That's not to say we won't go to bed pissed at each other every once in a while. But when those nights come, and Les heads to the couch, I sleep on the living room floor beside her.
Believe the best in people. It makes a difference.
I started this business in 2003 after having shot a few weddings alongside other photographers. I had a vision for how I wanted to do things and running my own show was the only way to make that happen. I quit my day job in January 2007 and have been a full-time photographer ever since, having shot hundreds of weddings over the years.
I specialize in documentary people photography, and work hard to create meaningful images from one of the most important days in the lives of my many wonderful clients. Visit my website or contact me to learn how I can do this for you.
I tell your story by capturing real, candid, joyful, and intimate moments. Your session or wedding should be a fun experience; one that you'll always remember. Not only do I want you to have fun, but in 50 years I want you to look back on your photos and see the happiness radiate through. I want you to relive those moments!
Growing up next to a state park, I have a deep appreciation for natural light and beautiful locations. I've been to Europe multiple times, I've seen 19 different National Parks, and my heart yearns to see it all. Want to get married in a National Park? Let's go. Want to get married in your parent's backyard? I'm there. Want to get married in the church you grew up in? Count me in. Your story is unique, and not every story features a mountain top.
In my free time you can catch me hanging out with my husband (Ry), cuddling with my puppies, reading Stephen King, binging Netflix, or training for a marathon. In addition to shooting, I freelance as photo assistant, retoucher, and digital tech at studios. I received my bachelor's degree in Commercial Photography from Ohio University's Scripps College of Communication, in the School of Visual Communication.
Look forward to working with you!
Our philosophy results in photography that is as unique as the wedding day and the people in it. It isn't about a style, but about capturing the most beautiful, emotionally relevant record of the events and feelings of the day.
I am an emotionally driven photographer who believes that relationships and trust are key to documenting your wedding day.
I also brag about my one break-dancing move that I will show you regardless or not if you want to see.

With that said, I want to share in couple's joy by documenting their story in a way that, I believe, will be dynamic, unconventional and leave a lasting legacy for their future family.
My style is unconventional because I'm not the parent's photographer. I'm not the audience's photographer. I'm not here to please anyone expect the couple.
My heartfelt desire is to photograph people and moments as they are. I may give direction as to where to stand, but I'm not going to plan poses based on other photographer's work. I want to capture people in an honest state because authenticity is beautiful. When you look at a photograph you should be able to not only see it, but feel its emotions.
I am a father, painter, professor, designer, dancer, and pancake pro. All these things make me a better photographer, which means your photographs will be different from others. I believe in beauty, but also believe in meaning.
Just be yourself and I'll do the rest.
