Hi, I'm Joey! I'm a 26-year-old photographer who's been shooting portraits and live music for the last twelve years and branched into engagements, elopements, and weddings in 2023. Wedding photography, for me, is a balance of photojournalistic and documentary photography for the majority of the day, with the other component being fine art you'd want to hang in a museum. I avoid making myself the center of attention when possible (unless asked otherwise) to preserve the ambiance and atmosphere of the day and maintain an excellent guest experience. My editing style is marked by true-to-life color (any changes accentuate, rather than change the mood of a shot), lots of contrast to make each moment feel as lively as when they happened, and a film-inspired twist that adds a timeless factor.

My business is centered around collaboration with clients: I don't "take" photos of you, we create art together. As an empath, I strive to keep everyone calm and happy throughout the day and in the months beforehand, and I'd always prefer to be additive in a positive way rather than disruptive or obtrusive. Even the chaos and necessary flexibility involved with a wedding day is comfortable for me since I've worked for years in elementary schools, for the last three years in special education (leaving my job to work weddings only after June 2026, though!), so I'm used to the chaos and embrace it, though I do my best to limit my own chaos output. I truly love what I do and can't wait to explore more of it in the new year with more time on my hands and less 2AM editing nights!
