My career as a photographer began when I was a journalist. It often occurred that I would abandon the pen in favour of the camera, in order to adequately express my need to tell stories through images. Avant Garde Studio came into existence as a natural result of my learning process. I love weddings. I love working with couples in love!!!! I actually feel very privileged to capture all those precious moments during a wedding day, while enjoying the freedom of expression and creativity that I experience through photography.

I live in Montreal, Canada and am a father of two wonderfully rambunctious boys, and one spirited baby girl. My wife, Angela is a woman who daily makes me believe in soulmates. I document life through a lens and believe that as much as photography is an art form, it is also responsibility. It is tangible memory, and, in essence, how we relate to our past and communicate with our future.

We are wife and husband, parents to Max and Charlie, partners in every sense of the word. We travel the world to tell wedding stories. We believe in the power of photography for art and for history, and that beauty can be found in the most striking of landscapes and the most subtle of gestures.

Hi! My name is Frederick and my company name is Brophoto. At the end of 2014, I quit my job as a landscape architect to pursue my passion; wedding photography! Playing with light and capturing authentic moments is what I love! And when those moments include smiles and laughter, I really get a sense of fulfillment! I find there is nothing more beautiful than a happy couple having fun together!

On a more personal note, I'm the father of 3 beautiful little girls! I've been with Elizabeth, the love of my life, for almost 2 decades now! I enjoy camping, trekking, gardening, politics, eating good food with friends and family, going to the movies and travelling!
