I'm located in Varazze, a small and charming sea town on the Ligurian coast, aka Italian Riviera. That is very close to Genoa and all the major places of interest in North West Italy. Portofino, Santa Margherita and the Cinque Terre region are only a short drive away. Tuscany and Lake Como are a couple of hours drive away. Monte Carlo, Nice and Cote d'Azur are roughly 1,5 hours drive away.
I am certainly available to cover your event anywhere. Travel expenses are simply charged at cost when significant travel is required. Often for nearby locations I won’t charge any travel expenses. In any case, a quick email enquiry is usually all it takes to clear any possible doubts.
I've been in the business since 2009 and covered weddings in the hundreds as the main photographer.
My photography is observational and unobtrusive, a method of working that is often called ‘photojournalistic’. My job, and what I love most, is to tell the story of your wedding through beautiful and emotional images that will be as full of meaning in 30 years time as they are today.
Being a documentary wedding photographer, I often get asked whether I will also take posed family photos or posed bride and groom portraits. The answer to both questions is: yes, absolutely!
While my style of shooting during the day is documentary, I always suggest couples reserve a spot for group photos in their wedding day schedule. These groupings are quick, easy, and largely informal and I try to make them pleasant and enjoyable for everyone involved.
Also, I'm happy to include a bride and groom portrait session in my coverage, either to fit in the wedding day schedule or the day before/after the wedding. I like to provide my clients with portraits that will not only be meaningful to them, but will also make nice, interesting pictures to look at in their own right. I’m far from the ‘traditional’ way of shooting these pictures: the stiff, formally posed portraits are not what I'm after. Rather, I prefer that my couples take their own initiative and behave/pose in a way that is comfortable to them, A method of working that allows me to be in control of the shoot, but will make them feel totally at ease and enjoy the experience.
While I understand it would perhaps be more convenient for a couple to find information on my pricing directly online, without having to ask, my choice has always been not to publish my rates on the web. Instead, I make them available upon request via email or direct contact. I much prefer that a couple of potential clients contact me because they feel excited about the photographs, rather than because they find that I fit their budget. My personal opinion is that couples with high expectations for their wedding day and wedding pictures should be looking for their wedding photographer focusing on his style and on the emotional impact of his images. Having said that, all it takes to get a detailed quote is a simple email or message through this portal (see the 'Contact' form above).
I do have a studio where we can meet in Varazze. I’m always happy to meet my clients in the studio, so that we get to know each other in person, but I realize that sometimes meeting is impractical. In all such cases, I suggest that we have an informal chat via Skype or over the phone to get acquainted.
I am of course proud member and multi award winner here at Fearless Photographers. I'm also member of WPJA (The Wedding Photojournalist Association) and ISPWP (the International Society of Professional Wedding Photographers) where to be accepted, a photographer must be a proven veteran with a track record and peer recognition.
