I'm located in the Logan Square neighborhood in Chicago, IL. I do not charge a travel fee for events in the City of Chicago or suburbs. If your event is outside of this (downstate Illinois, or neighboring Michigan, Wisconsin or Indiana), it simply depends on your specific event plans and location. Having a destination wedding? Let's connect! I'm very open to traveling abroad!
Before moving into wedding and commercial photography, I was a full-time staff photojournalist at Pioneer Press Newspapers in Chicago (2000-2009). I started photographing weddings part-time in 2002, and then full-time in 2009. I generally photograph 20-30 per year, so at this point I've photographed over 200 weddings in total.
I blend modern documentary wedding photography, with creative and dynamic portraiture. Ultimately my goal for every couple I work with is to help them relive their wedding day through the images I create. I accomplish this by looking for sparks of emotion, defining moments, and documenting the day as it unfolds.
My wedding photography services start at $3500 and include:
- Lead photographer Jason Brown
- Lighting assistant
- Sharable online gallery
- Images in both color and black & white
- Edited, high-resolution images on a USB drive
I generally meet clients at one of the below locations. I'm absolutely willing to use Facetime / Skype for out of town couples.

Bachelors Degree in Journalism, University of Illinois
My work has been recognized by the Wedding Photojournalist Association and Illinois Press Photographers Association.
I've also been featured in Modern Luxury Weddings and The Knot Chicago magazine.
Outside of wedding photography, I enjoy traveling, skiing, (pretty much anything relating to the mountains/outdoors), couch time with my puppy, bow ties, strumming my guitar (still learning), and spending time with friends around the fire pit.
He was very flexible about finding a time to meet at his studio, and he's a very detailed and down-to-Earth guy who is easy to work with.
Our engagement photos were amazing and it was great to get to know him better before the wedding (he brought along a lighting assistant as well, which made the photos even better as it got later in the day). At the actual wedding, he included a second shooter and lighting assistant in the package Read More and all of the photos turned out great! We had multiple guests at the wedding comment on how impressed they were with the professionalism of our photography team.
One of the best things about working with Jason is his state of the art technology. His photo quality is amazing and we ended up with a flash drive and an online gallery with over 1,500 photos. His web tools make it easy to customize albums and packages and you can tell that he spends a lot of time making sure that everything he offers is top notch. We would absolutely recommend Jason Brown Photography to all of our friends and family!
