I've been a photographer for 15 years. A few years ago, I found my soul mate and we started working together. Sharing a passion for photography and video production, we joined forces to create Clean Slate Digital Media. We operate our wedding photography component under "Wedding Photography by Heather & Rob". We've never looked back and working together is amazing. We love working with couples who place a lot of importance on their wedding photographs. They understand the art of the craft and appreciate the work we do in a way that makes doing it that much more rewarding.
We truly love what we do, and think it shows in everything we do. We hope you agree.
I'm passionate about being outdoors, traveling and connecting with people. I will climb a tree, swim a river and roll in the mud to take a good photograph. A photograph that will express the Real-ness of the moment. That's what I strive for.
I'm based in Maryland, USA, but I'm happy to travel to wherever a wedding may take me.
I absolutely love what I do.
I've been a wedding photographer for about 8 years (but have been studying photography since I was 13). I've explored quite a few avenues in photography, but I've found my niche capturing weddings. There's nothing more rewarding or humbling to get to have the responsibility of documenting one of the most important days of a couple's life.
I'm not about stiff awkward poses of your relationship. I'm about the genuine, quirky, sarcastic, teasing, loving, quiet, loud, fun, and unique love that you have.
I wanna capture the real stuff for you. I wanna get the big moments, the in-betweens, the ones you don't think anyone else is watching. I'm not a story teller, I'm a story listener. Tell me about your story, and lets create something beautiful for you.
We call it DOCUTORIAL Photography (Yes, we made up a word. We also considered journaltorial but that sounded a little too close to urinal or janitor - words that you probably don't want associated in your head to your wedding day. Plus, it's a little tricky to say. So, we did what any sane person would do: we tossed a coin. Luckily for you, docutorial won.) It's our unique mix of Photojournalistic/Documentary style and Editorial style photography.
Doing this work with my best friend is amazing. We complement each other, we compete, we divide and conquer, we share the experience. I sneak a kiss once in a while. Couldn't imagine it any other way.
Me? I am a perfectionist who is utterly imprefect - I love candy, movies, and staying up late. I feel the most alive when I am traveling, dancing, or making photographs.
We work to establish a comfort level that will allow our couples to share their personalities and quirks, so their images show the full range of their distinctive and extraordinary connection. We are also sensitive to poses that will best complement or enhance the physical attributes of our couples. We are always searching for those moments between moments, and different angles to help us create an artistic and unexpected perspective.
Weddings are celebrations that encompass love in all its forms, including the joining of new families and friends. This is why we also work with our couples to make sure we capture special contemporary portraits, large and small.
Fast forward a few years, through lots of learning and continuous growth, I'm ready to move others the way I was moved in 2013.
My love of photography was sparked when my brother was getting married. It wasn't until his wedding that I decided to purchase my first "real camera" and I haven't turned back since.
